What do you need to know to make the world a better place? This is the topic that Max Roser, founder and director of the internationally acclaimed website Our World in Data, recently addressed at a public lecture hosted by Leap (the Laboratory for the Exploration of Africa’s Past), RESEP and Stellenbosch’s School for Data Science. This fascinating presentation is now available on YouTube—linked here.

Max says he founded Our World in Data—an open-access and open-source online publication—to present data and research on topics such as poverty, global health, infectious diseases, hunger, violence, humanity’s impact on the environment, and inequality. Our World in Data has become the most important source of global data on the Covid-19 pandemic.
