Silke completed her Masters in Economics at the University of Stellenbosch in January 2013, where she also attained her Honours in Economics in 2011 as well as her Bachelor of Arts in Decision-Making and Knowledge Management in 2010. During her undergraduate studies, she majored in Political Science, Economics and Decision Making (Knowledge Management) and has focused most of her attention in her postgraduate studies on Development Economics and on Economics of Education which is a sub-field of the former. Both her Honour’s and Master’s theses fall under the sub-field of Economics of Education, focusing particularly on management related shortcomings in primary and secondary schooling in South Africa. Silke is associated with RESEP as a researcher and assistant project manager.
