Kathryn is a Masters student at the University of Stellenbosch, where she also obtained her undergraduate degree in Economics and Statistics in 2010 and her Honours degree in Economics in 2011. She is currently a tutor and research assistant in the department if economics.

Her Masters dissertation focuses on exploring the relationship between educational attainment and labour market outcomes in South Africa in the post – Apartheid era, under the supervision of Servaas van der Berg and Rulof Burger. Her research interests include applied labour economics with a focus on the returns to education, as well as the economics of education and improving schooling outcomes in South Africa.
