Researcher and Master’s student
Camren is a Master’s student in Economics at the University of Stellenbosch while learning and assisting the ReSEP group. Her areas of interest include development economics and social economic development.
Camren’s Master’s thesis concerns operationalising Amartya Sen’s Capability Theory to define and analyse the different classes in South Africa, with specific focus being placed on the middle class and the vital role which they play in South Africa. This is done using the 1993 PSLSD and 2008 NIDS datasets. She has just returned from a semester exchange to the Georg-August Univeritaet Goettingen in Germany as part of her involvement with the ReSEP group.
